Your Jewish Community Library account gives you access to books, DVDs, and CDs at the Library’s main branch in San Francisco and Pushcart branch at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto, and to eBooks and audiobooks through Overdrive.

To log in, click here. Logging in lets you: reserve items (place holds), select the branch at which you will pick up materials, renew items you want to keep longer, create book lists, and recommend new items the library should buy.. Contact the library if you need assistance. 

Forgot your password?

The Library provides a common default password when users register. Contact the library if you have forgotten your user ID or your password. If you want to reset your password, you can do so here.

Apply for borrowing privileges

If you have not previously borrowed items from the Jewish Community Library, fill out this application for borrowing privileges to receive access to the Library’s print and digital collections. A librarian will register your information, create an individual library account for you, and email your user username and password to you. Your username and password are the only credentials you need to check out materials. You must be a Bay Area resident to borrow from the Library. Contact the library if you have questions or need assistance.

How to borrow print and digital materials

The Jewish Community Library’s print collection includes more than 40,000 items in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, and Russian featuring the best in Jewish fiction, nonfiction, memoir, religious texts and commentaries, children’s books, movies, music, and more. Materials are available to borrow onsite at the library’s San Francisco (Sundays: noon to 4 PM, and Mondays and Thursdays: 11 AM to 4 PM) and Palo Alto (Wednesdays 8:30 AM to 1 PM) locations. 

Jewish-content ebooks and audiobooks are available 24/7 to Bay Area residents via the Jewish Community Library’s digital collection. Borrowers need their Jewish Community Library username and password. Detailed instructions are available on the Library’s website for downloading and accessing the digital collection.
